Last week I imported a Vita for my birthday in February. I thought hey, why not. I have a friend visiting who will ship me one. Here are my thoughts in a handy Millennial bullet point format.
• You probably shouldn’t import a Vita. There are no games and the PSN store for the US isn’t live yet. You’ll have to buy the few english games from the Asian PSN store, AFTER finding a place to buy Asian PSN cards. Plus it’s crazy expensive to ship it if you have a buddy grab one for you.
• It’s fuckin’ awesome. It’s like having a next gen console in your hand.
• Don’t buy Monster Radar. As awesome as it looks, it only works in Japan. In fact, make sure you get one of the few games that are English friendly.
• One day, you’ll wish you had more than 32Gigs of memory card space. You are able to download PS Vita games (which is cheaper) as well as UMD games (discounted if you own them) and other PSP/PSN games. I see a system getting filled pretty quickly.
If you have any other questions about it, ask me here and I’ll answer what I can.
