Alright, long week of freelance and BSR updates. Time to hunker down for the evening and beat Dead Space 2. I cannot wait to finish this game! Pop open the disc drive to swap Halo: Reach for Dead Space 2. “What’s that Pixel? You want to fetch? Sorry girl, not right now… whoa whoa -”
My overzealous Corgi (seen below pretending she isn’t usually plotting my demise) decided to pass between myself and my Xbox, slamming into the open tray. BAM. CRACK. POP. Shit. The disc drive isn’t so much coming out in the perpendicular fashion at is a cold 45.

Google don’t fail me now. Let’s look up how I can pop open this Xbox Slim. Can’t be too complicated. I bet the drive has just been bumped off the gears. On second thought… This looks like I can do some serious damage. Back to Google.
Alright, let’s try… Xbox 360 Repair Utah. First entry, no dice. Second entry… not the friendliest of fellas. Let’s check out their Google Reviews. Wait… who is this third listing on the Google Reviews, X Modz. Prices range from $25 to a maximum of $90. Wow, really? That’s half as much as the other guys. The’ve got a FaceBook as well, let’s see what it has to say. Lifetime warranty. All work fully guaranteed. They have the official equipment and licenses.

Let’s give X Modz a call, maybe I’ll luck out and he can look over it tomorrow. At the latest I can hand it off to him Monday. James answers, super nice guy. I explain my situation and he looks up the cost to fix my Slim, $30 bucks if I don’t need a new drive. SWEET. He even let’s me know I can bring it by this evening if I like. I may be back to pwnin’ n00bs faster than I thought.

Jame’s shop is located in Draper. Pretty easy to find actually, its just a few miles away from the Ikea. As he opens the door he gladly takes my crippled Xbox. Within fifteen minutes he has it opened up, repaired and hooked up to his iMac for a test drive. This guy definitely knows his stuff, and he was really great to interact with. While he was working on my Xbox he showed me some consoles that had red ringed and how he fixes them. He’s even talked me into getting my old console repaired.

Pwnin’ some n00bs on Halo: Reach. Thank God for X Modz. I highly recommend them. Very fast and professional, as well as affordable and reliable. They also take care of out of state customers, make sure to contact him if you are in need of some console repairs.
