Let’s be honest, all video game karting titles are compared to Mario Kart. After nearly two decades, M.K. has established itself as the leader…period. Fortunately, that first party titan is patented to Nintendo platforms and that leaves a VOID in the Playstation and Xbox habitats. Sonic & Sega All-Stars threw their hat in the ring in 2010 and now only two year’s later, attempt to improve on that foundation. ‘Transformed’ is exactly what the name suggests. All of the karts now have the ability to transform depending on the ‘conditions’ of the track. No longer constricted by just the road, you will be able to take flight and coast over bodies of liquid (water, lava, whatever). However, you can’t just choose to do it whenever. It’s automatic. A track-to-track thing. MORE weapons could assist the unique game mechanic in ‘Transformed’. The BSR team played for around ten minutes on the Golden Axe track, I only counted one set of weapons as a pick up (and it wasn’t the Golden Axe). ‘Transformed’ is set be released on November 16th.
