Nintendo of Japan has issued a short press release with the sad news that the 4th CEO of Nintendo Co LTD has passed away due to a “bile duct growth”. In his early career he helped create games such as “Balloon Fight”, games in the “Kirby” franchise, and cult favorite, “Earthbound”. He also worked on the “Legend of Zelda Series”, “Animal Crossing”, and “Mario”. During his time as President of Nintendo we also saw the Game Cube, Wii, WiiU, and the Nintendo product line.
Our thoughts go out to his family and friends as they mourn the loss of one of gaming’s greatest innovators.
