THQ Nordic has revived the Black Mirror franchise. Now, if the only “Black Mirror” you know is the Charlie Brooker techno-horror series one then, well, you haven’t been enjoying much of the pop culture. I mean, the problem I had with the Black Mirror games is that I always started thinking of the Arcade Fire song whenever I hear that title. It is a common one perhaps? However, this Black Mirror is based upon the point and click adventure which first released in 2004, spawning two sequels which released in 2008 and 2011 respectively. Black Mirror follows David Gordon, a man who returns to his family home, Black Mirror House. He is a man who never knew his estranged father very well and has been summoned to his family’s ancestral home in the Scottish highlands, where his father has just committed suicide. David Gordon will be solving puzzles and interacting with nightmarish visions and phantoms. We got the chance to speak with Florian Emmerich, with THQ Nordic. He talks about restarting the series, fan service and Lovecraftian influence. Black Mirror is In development for PS4, Xbox One, PC, Mac, and Linux, the title is actually not very far off at all: due to release on November 28, 2017.
