In Stores This Week: Video Games

Before I get started on the upcoming releases this week I feel the need to remind you of Pokemon Black and White coming out yesterday. Not that most of you need reminding. But, I did see this week’s ad for Toys R Us and it’s good news for procrastinators. This week they’re offering buy one get one half off on ALL Nintendo DS games. That includes the two new Pokemon games. So if you didn’t get yours already, or thought you could only afford one of them, get to Toys R Us. Now for everything else:

Multi-Console:
Yoostar 2: In The Movies
Dragon Age 2
Major League Baseball 2K11

Playstation 3:
MLB 2011: The Show

Nintendo Wii:
The $1,000,000 Pyramid
Maximum Racing: GP Classic Racing
Maximum Racing: Drag & Stock
Super Mario All-Stars: Limited Edition (limited re-release)

Nintendo DS:
Jumpstart Deep Sea Escape
Petz Bunnyz Bunch
Atari’s Greatest Hits Volume 2
Beastly Frantic Foto

Sony PSP:
MLB 2011: The Show
Phantom Brave: Heroes of the Hermuda Triangle

Yoostar 2: In The Movies, if you don’t know, is a MOVE/Kinect enabled game that has you playing famous roles in famous films. Sort of like karaoke for movies. I’m waiting for reviews on it, but this seems like it could be the next Rock Band in my house.

For RPG fans, Dragon Age 2 seems to have everything going for it, sequel to one of the biggest RPGs of 2009, Bioware, multiple classes, crafting, etc.

You probably already have everything included in Super Mario All-Stars: Limited Edition two or three times over. But if you don’t, get it. Especially if you have kids or new gamers around that haven’t experienced the true roots of console gaming.
