Welcome back to This Week in [adult swim]. Not too much of note, but there is, as always, a lot of good stuff still going on.
This Sunday we have the premiere of an especially good episode of Aqua Teen Hunger Force, “Multiple Meat” Midnight ET/ 11pm CT. This lucky robot got to see this episode at a live appearance of the Aqua Teen guys a few months back and they showed this episode. The simplest way to explain it is this: Shake keeps cutting Meatwad in half, first with a sword and an axe, then eventually with a tablesaw. This you can all see in the trailer online. What they’re not showing you, and what will soon be a classic ATHF moment is Carl playing poker with the Meatwads.
Have you seen Titan Maximum? Did you miss it, but want to get into it? Well, set your DVRs to make sure you get every episode, starting Monday April 13 , 1am ET/ 12 CT. What is Titan Maximum? From the guys who make Robot Chicken (and soon to be a new Star Wars series!) this is a spoof of Voltron and a lot of other manga involving giant battling robots in space. Also some commentary on the military-industrial complex, nepotism, and general geekery– or maybe I’m just reading too much into this. If you like Robot Chicken, and you enjoyed Voltron as a kid, check it out.
And Thursday at 11pm ET/ 10 CT your Family Guy episodes will be Blue Harvest pt 1 and 2- the Star Wars spoofs. These are some of my favorite Family Guy episodes, and in case you didn’t buy the DVDs… well, you should really buy the DVDs. Or just make the excuse you’re waiting for the box set of Blue Harvest, Something Something Darkside, and whatever the Return of the Jedi spoof will be– and in the meantime make sure you watch this.
Also of note, Wednesday at 11:30 ET/ 10:30 CT adult swim will air the “banned” episode of Family Guy that Fox refused to air way, way, back in 2000 or something “When You Wish Upon a Weinstein.” Of course, it’s since played hundreds of times on [as], so no big deal. But it’s still pretty funny.
Make sure you go to the adult swim website for ridiculous games: I’m especially enjoying Tofu Hunter (like Deer Hunter but you’re shooting blocks of tofu), Robot Unicorn Attack!!!, and Polar Bear Payback. Floater is now available on the iphone, and they now have Robot Unicorn Attack t-shirts for sale. You know you want one. CD of “Always” by Erasure not included in purchase.
