You Western Capitalist bastards love Polaroid pictures. Its a well known fact. They used to be everywhere and they were great. Take a picture and a few minutes later it appears on the film. Then digital cameras showed up on the scene……. Now they are getting better and cheaper. An 10 MegaPixel camera can be had for under $200 dollars and they just keep getting better. Polaroid new that the instant film cameras time had come and gone, but did they bow out of the race? Hell no! They found a way back in with a cool new toy that utilizes the cameras that put them out of business. The Polaroid PoGo.
The Pogo uses Zero Ink or ZINK technology to print pictures using colored crystals that are heated to create the image on the prints. They can produce 300 DPI in black and color and are 2″x3″. They also have an adhesive backing so you can stick them on whatever. While by no means are they big and great pictures they do seem that they could be fun to have around and I see the entertainment value in them. The Pogo is portable as well. A charge can print about 15 prints which take about a minute. It can also print while it is charging which takes about 2-3 hours.
Polaroid was very smart and made it Bluetooth compatable, which means you can send photos straight from your cell phone and have them in minutes. Not all cell phones are compatable but you can check on Polaroid’s site beforehand. It also has a USB port on the side so you can plug in your camera and print directly from there. The PoGo runs between $100-135. I saw it on Bestbuy.com for $100 and a new pack of 30 prints is about 13 bucks.
