There was a rash of Nano watch bands when the most recent iteration of the Ipod Nano came out last year. One even broke records at Kickstarter.com by raising over $275,000 in a week. The problem I had with a lot of these bands is that they either locked your Ipod down so that it was a pain in the ass to get it out of the casing or they were asking me to spend $30 on nothing more than a strip of rubber that offered no protection.
The Hex band gave me the what I think is the best option. The Ipod is easily removed and inserted into the case and it adds a bit of protection around the outside which is great for people like me who tend to bump into things a lot.
It is such a simple idea but I really love having it. When I’m at work I just send the headphone cable up my sleeve and don’t have to worry about it catching on anything. Plus when I get in my car to go home and I can quickly pop it out of the band and plug in to my FM modulator without having to take anything apart. And for you runners who like to use your Nike+ with your Nano it looks like next month you’ll have an option from Hex that will allow you to use that with the watch band.
