As a follow up to my article about the iPhone 4 and it’s antenna issues, it was announced yesterday by Apple that they will be holding a press conference regarding the iPhone 4 tomorrow (Friday, July 16) at 1pm ET (11am locally).
Being the secretive company they are, Apple hasn’t released any of the details of what will be discussed during this press conference, but you can put your dollar on that it is surrounding the PR nightmare that has come about from the reception issues of the iPhone 4. It could be anything; Apple announcing a recall; stating that they are fixing the problem and all iPhone 4’s shipped going forward shouldn’t have this problem; or Free bumpers (which mitigate the issue) for all iPhone owners – or any number of other options.
My guess? Steve Jobs will get on stage:
“Alright assholes. I told you not to hold the phone that way and you obviously didn’t get it. So I am going to take this time to show you how to hold your iPhone 4.”
In any case, I am incredibly curious to see how Apple handles this rare incident come tomorrow.
