Because you share a love so big, I now pronounce you frog and pig.
One of my favorite onscreen weddings has always been Kermit and Miss Piggy’s nuptials at the end of The Muppets Take Manhattan. And though it was staged as part of their Broadway musical Manhattan Melodies, a ripped photo of Kermit and Miss Piggy on their wedding day appears in The Muppets. The photo, taken from that very scene, implies that the marriage really did take place, but things unraveled enough for Miss Piggy to move to Paris.
Now, according to an article posted today on Bleeding Cool, Les Miserables production designer Eve Stewart is quoted as saying she is working on:
Really the antithesis of Les Miserables, I’m now at Pinewood doing The Muppet Show. And today has been one of the best days of my life, designing Miss Piggy’s wedding at the Tower of London. Get me… I’ve never been so happy.
Though she says ‘The Muppet Show,’ Eve Stewart’s IMDB page does indeed list that she’s currently at work on The Muppets . . . Again! which is set in London and is now filming.
But who is Piggy marrying? Will there be a wedding, wedding, piggy froggy wedding? And will the Swedish Chef make the cake? Hopefully these questions and more will be answered.
The Muppets . . . Again! is slated for release March 2014.
