Welcome to Tee Time with Doctor Cyborg, in which I Doctor Cyborg Attorney at Law – Five, take the time while Golfing to talk to you about whatever happens to be on my mind. I have reprogrammed Slugtron to be my caddy. So mix yourself a margarita, and jump on the golf cart. To add an extra layer of fun, It will be bikini golfing.
Hey girls, put those tops back on. Fore!
Today I will be talking about a new comic called “Stories In the Flesh” written and illustrated by: Koren Shadmi. (Yeah I thought it was a chick to. It’s actually a man from Israel who moved to New York.)
I realize another one of the robots wrote a review for this book recently, in a way this is an act of war. But when your a robot you kind of have to think with your chrome if you get my meaning. So anyway here’s the real review! While golfing! Fore!
As you might have guessed this is a collection of short stories, on the other hand, you may not have guessed because you may be a moron. Some of the short’s are better than others, also some have boobs in them, just a coincidence? Moving on. All of these stories are filled to the brim in metaphor, and would be quite insightful and meaningful to the common man. I wish I read this book when I was ten so I could have learned something from it. Not that I hold it against this book, I truly wish it wasn’t beneath me.
Girls! What did I say about those tops! ummm Slugtron that’s a nine iron you idiot! I am miles away from the green, just give me a driver.
Excuse me, where was I? Oh yes, I think this book is worth adding to your collection. I really liked the story about the headless girl. In a way I wish some of the stories were a bit longer, just because in ways they felt a little to much like punch lines. Which makes my job a little harder!
Eh, get it, doctor, punch line, hospital visit if you get punched to much. Whatever.
I don’t want to over-hype this book, nor do I want to understate its value. So I’ll cut it short by saying this to its potential onlookers: If you have ever been mesmerized and/or wrapped up in the meaning of an absurd yet lucid dream, I believe you will enjoy this book. Each story is potently rich and complex in it’s simplicity in both writing, art and choice of framing…. That’s right, both of those three.
A book that mirrors the soul of it’s reader-Slugtron
Quit trying to be deep Slugtron, you really are beginning to tire me. Anyway.
Widely available on February 3rd, 2009 at many bookstore chains and online marts, or you can haggle your local shop to order it if they don’t have it. It’s definitely one you should own.
