We still have nine months until the theatrical release of Hunger Games: Catching Fire, but Lionsgate is slowly releasing more and more images from the film.
We recently shared some stills from the sequel, but the new poster from The Hunger Games facebook page is dramatically different from what we’ve seen already.
Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) and Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) wear white clothing. The crisp, clean clothes are a stark contrast to their blood-soaked arena outfits. They are on the Victory Tour, celebrating that they survived the Hunger Games, and now they must go to each district and meet the residents.
Katniss holds a bouquet of roses in her hands. Though beautiful, if you’ve read the book, the large bouquet could be symbolic of a malevolent presence in their lives.
The information accompanying the image is:
“The Capitol proudly announces the victors of the 74th annual Hunger Games, Katniss Everdeen & Peeta Mellark, as they embark on this year’s Victory Tour! Stay tuned toThe Capitol PN for updates…”
What are your thoughts on the new image? Does it represent the second story in the series?
