NBC has announced they will not be optioning to turn the Mockingbird Lane pilot into a series. Bryan Fuller, tweeted today:
NBC not moving forward with #MockingbirdLane. From producers and cast, thank you all for enthusiasm and support.
Mockingbird Lane was a modern reboot of the classic Munsters tv series, starring Eddie Izzard as Grandpa, Jerry O’Connell as Herman, and Portia di Rossi as Lily. The pilot was aired around Halloween, and despite giving NBC the best Friday ratings they’ve had in years, the network decided not to pick it up.
Here’s hoping someone from SyFy or another cable network will continue where they left off because they pilot was really funny and had a lot of promise as to what could come. That and the fact that nearly anything with Eddie Izzard in it (especially as a blood sucking vampire) is never a bad thing.
