With the popularity of movie and TV streaming services and the increase in licensing fees, it’s not surprising to hear that Netflix will soon be charging more for their incredibly popular service.
According to The Wrap, Netflix did a trial run on a rate increase in Ireland with “little to no impact”, and will soon be charging between one and two dollars more for their service starting sometime in a “future quarter” for new customers. Granted, $9 or $10 a month is still pretty cheap for unlimited access to all their movies and TV shows, but this is bound to irk some long time users.
Thankfully, if you are a current subscriber, your rates will stay the same for a “generous time period”, but they will increase to the new pricing structure in the long run.
For a lot of us Netflix customers, the small fee is something that goes unnoticed in our monthly bills no matter how much or little we use it, but will the rate hike make you second think your subscription, or do you think it’s still worth it for the amount of content you get?
