“Ch-ch-ch-Chip ‘N Dale’s Rescue Rangers…” I know I’m not the only one who started singing the theme song when I saw this news. According to The Hollywood Reporter Disney has picked up a pitch from commercials director Robert Rugan for a live action “Rescue Rangers.”
The chipmunk duo has been part of Disney cartoons since 1943 but got their own series in 1989. I am excited for this but extremely nervous at the same time. I used to love this cartoon show and my only hope is that it is better than the “Alvin and the Chipmunks” movies.

I assume we would see other characters from the series like Monterey Jack, Gadget and Zipper. For the villain I would be excited for anyone from Fat Cat to Professor Norton Nimnul. I personally would rather see Fat Cat than anyone else simply because I feel the human as the bad guy has been done with “Smurfs” and this movie should do something different.
Rugan has done spots for big names like Visa, HBO, Kodak and Nikon just to name a few. This is reassuring news to know that he’s not a nobody in the director world. Also Disney is pretty smart with who it brings on board so that puts some butterflies in my stomach at ease but they are also slowing starting to own the world so even if you don’t like their choices there isn’t much you can do about it.
Where do you stand? Are you excited for are you like other bots who when they heard the news reacted like this?
