“Thor: The Dark World” opened in the US over the weekend and while it wasn’t a juggernaut it did a very respectable $86.1 million. The first “Thor” opened at $65.7 million so maybe people are a little more willing to see the character after “The Avengers.” The Dark World had already opened up in foreign markets and has reached a worldwide gross of $326 million almost doubling the production budget.
Here are your Top 5 films for 11/10
- Thor: The Dark World with $86 million.
- Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa with $11.3 putting Old Johnny Knoxville up to $78.7 million, and the second highest film from Jackass.
- Free Birds came in at $11.2 million.
- Last Vegas made $11.1 million showing us that old people still go see movies.
- Lastly Ender’s Game had a massive drop from $27 million to $10.3 million. This can’t be good in a weekend with only 1 new movie. Next week “Catching Fire” will almost surely knock Ender even lower.
Take Aways: Marvel is still tops but people seem to have shyed away from the hard sci-fi, or maybe Ender just wasn’t as strong a property as we geeks thought.
