Age of Ultron, the upcoming sequel to last years The Avengers is set to hit theaters in 2015 and is currently in the casting phase. We know that the superhero team will re-assemble and additional characters are beginning to be announced.
James Spader was recently announced as playing Ultron and recently Sam Jackson dropped another bit of news. While not an official announcement, he seems like as reliable a source as any. Unless of course Marvel has him working a counter intelligence mission in true super spy fashion.
While speaking to The Wall Street Journal Jackson was quoted saying:
“I don’t think we begin shooting before March of next year. I know we’re shooting in London, that James Spader is Ultron and going to be the bad guy, and that we added Ms. [Elizabeth] Olsen [who will play the Scarlet Witch], but I don’t know what she’s doing, if she’s on the inside or the outside. I haven’t seen a script.”
Production on the flick is set for early next year. Olsen has a total of ten other screen credits including next year’s Godzilla.
Jackson’s statement also indicates he knows almost nothing else about the movie, meaning Marvel and Disney are keeping this very close to the chest.
Well there it is, Elizabeth Olsen is the Scarlet Witch, so saith Nick Fury.
