‘Crimson Peak’ Trailer

Of all the films I saw teasers for at San Diego Comic-Con in 2014, the one I might have been the most surprised by (because I didn’t expect it) and excited for (because of the talent involved) was Guillermo Del Toro’s “Crimson Peak.” The way it was described was that Legendary was so happy with “Pacific Rim” and Del Toro was going to go off and make another Spanish language horror film and they lured him back and threw cash at him to make one of those, but for them and in English.

That’s what this film is. And he was able to cast Jessica Chastain and Tom Hiddleston. How can you even begin to argue with that?

Here is the synopsis:

In the aftermath of a family tragedy, an aspiring author is torn between love for her childhood friend and the temptation of a mysterious outsider. Trying to escape the ghosts of her past, she is swept away to a house that breathes, bleeds…and remembers.

Tell me that, with the cast involved, the director, and that pitch, that you can watch that trailer and not be thrilled for this movie to come?

It can’t come for me soon enough.

“Crimson Peak” comes out October 16, 2015.
