Latino Review is reporting that Carrie Fisher’s daughter, Billie Lourd, will be appearing in “Star Wars: Episode VII.” She has no previous screen credits and biggest claim to fame is that she’s Carrie Fisher’s daughter and her father is the co-chairman of the Creative Artist’s Agency.
It raises questions, for sure. Will she be a substantial player in the film? She had looks in common with her mother and it would be easy to see her being cast doing something with some meat to it. And, let’s be honest, acting talent certainly runs in the family.
On the other hand, this could be a part as an extra, akin to George Lucas’ children in “Revenge of the Sith,” or Mark Hamill’s son Nathan in “Phantom Menace,” or even children of family friends like Sofia Coppola and her role as a handmaiden in “Phantom Menace.”
One thing is certain, it might take some time to determine whether this is true or even matters to the film.
“Star Wars: Episode VII” comes out December 18, 2015.
