Attention Atlanta Harry Potter fans!
The Fox Theatre is currently hosting its 2017 Coca-Cola Summer Film Festival, which features all eight Harry Potter films. In years past, I’ve attended The Princess Bride, Raiders of the Lost Ark, and Jaws as part of the annual festival, and I always have the best time. Before Jaws, my friends and I ate at a nearby restaurant, and they had a special Jaws-themed cocktail. This Spielberg fan was in heaven. Every year, there’s a great lineup of movies.
And The Fox is a beautiful theater. If you so choose, it’s an opportunity to get dressed up and have a night on the town before or after the movie.
The first film in the series (Harry Potter and the Sorceror’s Stone) starts Saturday, August 5. Be sure to appreciate John Williams’ epic score once again on the big screen.
Here’s the full lineup:
Saturday, August 5 @ 12 p.m. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone*
Saturday, August 5 @ 4 p.m. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
Saturday, August 5 @ 8 p.m. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
Saturday, August 12 @ 12 p.m. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire*

Sunday, August 13 @ 4 p.m. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2

Also, before some of the film screenings (Sorcerer’s Stone, Goblet of Fire, and Deathly Hallows Part I), fans will have the option of adding on the movie tour where they can learn about how the Fox Theatre and how Mr. Fox introduced the movie industry to various innovations that are still in place around the world today.
I also must mention that Beauty and the Beast (the original animated Disney classic and one of the best films of all time) will show on September 3, but that’s the Sunday of DragonCon and I think most of us will be there! But if you’re not too busy putting last minute costumes together for the con, then put on your Hogwarts best and accio some tickets to Harry Potter.
