Legendary Pictures released a 2 minute trailer for their upcoming film “Seventh Son” which hits theatres February 6, 2015. Not only does this film look to be a fun blend of action and fantasy, but it looks like it could be torn straight from the “Skyrim” universe. Basilisks, demons, vampires, dragons and trolls, all against an order of knights banded together to fight evil. This film is directed by Sergey Bodrov (Mongol, Prisoner of the Mountains) and is written by Matt Greenberg (Reign of Fire, 1408). While Ben Barnes (Tom Ward) may not play the dragon born, I’ll keep my excitement high by theorizing that the premise for the book this film is based on was taken from current fantasy video games, and the monsters were referenced from similar material. We may not get a “Skyrim” movie, but at least we’re getting “Seventh Son”.
Im ready to to watch some monsters get crushed with video-game styled combat. (seriously I swear I’ve seen the lizard with those axes somewhere before). You can check the trailer above and the movie poster below!
