You know what, traditional media? You suck at your jobs.
How bad? Well, the NY Post has just landed a major spoiler from the upcoming Batman, Inc #8. I’m not going to reprint it here, because it is pretty massive. I’m not even going to link to their story, because your click gives them money. And they don’t deserve a cent for the way they’ve handled this.
It is, however, going to be leaked, and talked about, the same way the death of Captain America was, the same way the death of Peter Parker was, etc. Because now that the Post has it, everyone will talk about it. So, if you don’t want to be spoiled, put yourself on media blackout for the next 2 days.
Because you know what? The NY Post doesn’t give two @#$%s about you or your right to not have things spoiled. And neither does the rest of the media.
Comics site Newsarama at least has the decency to warn of major major spoilers before posting the cover of the upcoming book, which hits the shelves Wednesday.
Well, it’s not that bad, but you can check their link and see what is what if you so choose. . . or you can just wait.
You know what? I’m sick of this. I’m sick of amateur hour from the so-called “professional” media. This is a big deal, and they just don’t care. And 99% of the people who hear are not going to head to the comic shop this Wednesday and pick up a copy. They’ll say “Who? What? Batman? Was that in the movie? Oh…. I don’t care.”
Meanwhile, we “amateurs” here respect our readers too much to spoil it. I don’t mind you finding out– go for it. But we respect embargoes. We respect inside information. I’m sitting on an interview with Rich Moore from Wreck-it Ralph that we can’t publish until next week. Swankmotron has sat on some of the news he knows about Clone Wars or projects Gail Simone is working on… because that’s what you do. Because we respect the creative process and respect people who don’t want things spoiled.
Now, that being said, here’s the big news in invisotext:
It’s Damien Wayne. He dies. The current Robin is killed.
Grant Morrisson added: “He saves the world. He does his job as Robin. He dies an absolute hero.”
I’m sold on the book. I’m all for buying it.
But damn it, lamestream media. Learn how to do your jobs. @#$%ing clownshoes. No wonder print is dead.
