Michael freaking Cera. For those of you not familiar with him or Scott Pilgrim, shame on you. Seriously. You call yourself a comic book nerd? The movie has been optioned by Universal Studios. It is going to be directed by Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz), and produced by Marc Platt, Eric Gitter and Nina Park.
Cera and Wright met up for the filming of a viral video promoting SuperBad. Both enjoying the others work, they decided to join forces and make quite possibly the best comic book movie ever.

Scott Pilgrim is the greatest running (almost manga) digest series right now. Anyone that grew up with Nintendo, Sega, or Atari will love this book. It’s a pretty simple story, really. Boy meets girl. Boy falls in love with girl. Boy has to fight girl’s seven evil ex-boyfriends to win her heart.
Geek jokes and references galore. As well as a hilarious group of characters. You can place yourself, or your friends in the story. I can’t emphasize enough that everyone should be reading this book.
