At a press conference today, Salt Lake Comic-Con organizers Dan Farr and Bryan Brandenburg unveiled a video that announced the first six official guests for the September 2014 con. They also announced that tickets for the event, held September 4-6 this year, are now on sale at their website.
The announced guests:
- Bruce Campbell – Ash himself is coming to Salt Lake City. He’s best known for his turns in the “Evil Dead” movies, as well as “The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr.,” as well the three best “Spider-Man” movies.
- Cary Elwes – Westley from “The Princess Bride” and a horror film called “Saw.”
- Sam Witwer – Voice of Darth Maul (and previous guest on Full of Sith) and star of “Being Human.”
- John Barrowman – Captain Jack Harkness himself!
- Christopher Lloyd – Doc Brown from “Back to the Future” and Judge Doom from “Who Framed Roger Rabbit?”
- Ernie Hudson – Winston Zeddemore himself from “Ghostbusters”
Convention organizers have promised to have more than 200 guests at the September event. They also assured us that “Comics” are at the core of “Comic-Con” and while these announced guests aren’t affiliated with comics, comic books will be a core part of this show, more than in previous events.
