I made my way to the local media superstore this week to do some DVD shoppin’. Tops on my list was the new release Justice League: The New Frontier. Adapted from Darwyn Cooke’s Eisner Award winning mini-series, the movie flat out rocks. No plot holes, a solid voice cast, no moments of “that’s not how it is in the comics,” and most importantly for me, no pandering to an under 10 age group. This is PG-13 and earns it with some violence, a little salty language, and some blood and guts. One deterrent is that it’s a love letter to the Silver Age of comics, so knowing the characters will definitely increase your enjoyment level, but not knowing them won’t stop you from liking it.I give it a solid 3 out of 4 Power rings. Green ones of course. Also, if you’re gonna buy the 2-disc set, do so at your local BestBuy. It comes with a cool little plastic Green Lantern figure that’s just the right size to sit on top of you monitor at work. No evil shall escape his sight don’t ya know!
