Even though “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” is still almost two years away, the creators have decided to spoon feed us little tastes of the flick from here to eternity. With the cinematic comic book race well underway and Marvel so far ahead that the Flash couldn’t even catch up, DC is doing the best they can to make sure we don’t forget about them.
First we got a picture of the Batmobile’s ass, and a poster, and a sad Batman. More recently we got a picture of Henry Cavill as Clark Kent sans glasses (say what?) which turned out to be off set, not a production still. Now we’ve got our first shot at Cavill as the Man of Steel…. Ya know, I mean, at least since we saw him in “Man of Steel.”
Here is a side by side comparison of the image released from the new production and one released for “Man of Steel.” I think it’s raining in one of them.
I haven’t had a challenge this difficult since my subscription to “Highlights” ended. Plus I’m super impressed by the ability of Kryptonian hair gel to withstand the elements. Gotta keep that spit curl just so.
Don’t get me wrong, all jokes aside, I’m super excited for the development of the DC cinematic universe. I want nothing more than for them to be able to duplicate the success of Marvel and give us another awesome universe to play in. But I would rather get something substantial every few months, or even just a really good movie in two years, as opposed to these little revelations that aren’t really revelations.
They’re dangling a carrot, attached to shiny keys; I just hope there is something worthwhile at the end of the stick.
