DC’s Next Animated Movie Revealed!

AICN had the scoop, but it seems as though BATMAN/SUPERMAN: Public Enemies is already in production as the next DC, straight to DVD animated film.

DC has has a solid run of movies and this storyline is certainly fertile soil for animated films.

SUPERMAN/BATMAN: PUBLIC ENEMIES:
United States President Lex Luthor uses the oncoming trajectory of a kryptonite asteroid to frame Superman and declare a $1 billion bounty on the heads of the Man of Steel and his “partner in crime” Batman. Super heroes and super villains alike launch a relentless pursuit of Superman and Batman, who must unite – and recruit super help – to stave off the action-packed onslaught, stop the asteroid, and uncover Luthor’s devious plot to take command of far more than North America.

I read this run for about 25 issues and I always thought that this first Public Enemies story arc was the best. Hopefully, they include some background material from the ongoing series’ that lead up to this moment. One moment in particular I’d like to see? Superman and Batman breaking into the White House to steal President Luthor’s Kryptonite ring. (Can someone help me remember which issues? It was an issue of Superman by Ed McGuinness, and then the story finished in an issue of Detective Comics. The Detective issue was great, because it was the one Sasha found out Bruce’s identity.)

In any case, I think we can all agree that this is good news.

Now if they’d only animate A Death in the Family. If that happened, I could die a happy robot.
