Boom! Studios has announced the upcoming independent book from storytellers James Tynion IV and Michael Dialynas. “The Woods” is a horror suspense tale in which an entire high school campus suddenly vanishes from our world and ends up appearing in an alien forest. The environment isn’t friendly to the people from the school and they’ll do anything they can to get back to the world they’re from. James Tynion IV is a recent hit over at DC Comics for his work with “Batman” writer Scott Snyder but he has certainly struck out on his own with hits such as “The Talon” and “Red Hood and The Outlaws”. He has proven to be a fan favorite for his unique style of suspense.
BOOM! Studios will be the first to publish an original comic book series from Tynion IV and I for one could not be more excited. In addition to this being an original book from Tynion, the comic will also feature art by Michael Dialynas. This artist is one to watch as his career grows up. Dialynas is from Greece and has worked on books from Dark Horse and Marvel Comics. His artist storytelling will work perfectly for a horror book. I’m certain that “The Woods” will give horror books over at Dark Horse a run for their money. BOOM! Studios has given us some preview art of the covers which you can check out below.
