This October, as we all know, AMC is premiering a TV adaptation of Robert Kirkman’s zombie powerhouse The Walking Dead during their Fearfest run. Today at the San Diego Comic Con, 2,000 fans were privy to a full panel and preview of the upcoming program. The show looks brilliant. The creators have captured the moodiness of the series’ black, white and gray pages and has enough buckets of blood, rotten flesh and splattered brains to shake a stick at. With all cast, crew and creators present, The Walking Dead series director announced that Bear McCreary, who scored Battlestar Galactica will be lending his talents to horror program. Joining the amazing cast is Michael Rooker and Norman Reedus.
Frank Darabont and Kirkman have come to the realization to elaborate on concepts of the comic rather than follow it strictly using Robert Krikman’s books as a trail of breadcrumbs to follow as opposed to a set of directions. But, fans fear not, Kirkman has actually been so involved he’s confirmed to having penned the 4th episode and should be working on one or two more. The first season of The Walking Dead will be six, hour long episodes summing up the comic’s first story arc and according to Robert Kirkman, “is gonna be chock full of dead children.”
