Happy Birthday, Buffy Summers! Okay, maybe not quite yet, but January 19 is the date that everybody’s favorite vampire slayer celebrates her birthday. Nearly every season of Buffy included a birthday episode, and each of these aired on or near January 19. And this year is very special. The Slayer turns 30. I’d say that calls for some cake, at the very least.
Instead of cake, though, Buffy’s birthday will be celebrated in comic shops everywhere by coinciding with the release of the final issue of the Season 8 series. Dark Horse comics also announces six Buffy Birthday Parties across the country (see below).

Each location will have game, prizes, and more. Personally, I’d be somewhat fearful of a Buffy birthday prize. Remember Season 2? That whole thing with the Judge? And that brief moment with Angel didn’t turn out so well either. But, if you don’t see your local nerd hangout listed, contact your shop owner and have him or her contact Dark Horse to learn how to host a Buffy party.
