The popular television show Buffy the Vampire Slayer aired for seven short years, but fans of the series have not been abandoned. Creator Joss Whedon continues the saga of Buffy and her friends in comics form with Season Eight, chronicling the continuing adventures of witchy Willow, one-eyed Xander, and loyal Dawn.
However, before Season Eight, Whedon brought others Slayers and vampires to comics, and now those stories are collected in a deluxe hardcover edition with cover by Jo Chen called Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Tales. Read the story about the first Slayer, as well as tales of vampires killing Slayers and killing each other. (And these vampires don’t sparkle).
Selected stories from Season Eight are also included. It might be worth a look when you’re at your comic shop this Wednesday celebrating Buffy’s birthday.
