The mystery of the Lost Ark journal that arrived at the University of Chicago’s admissions office for Indiana Jones has been solved!
Last week, the admissions office at the University of Chicago received a package addressed to Indiana Jones, which contained a replica journal of notes about the Ark of the Covenant and some inserts, looking like material Abner Ravenwood might have sent to his protege. It turns out that it was this package wasn’t intended to go to Jones’ alma mater, but instead it was a replica prop set sold on eBay on its way from Guam to Italy, when it came out of its packaging in Hawaii. The Postal Service found the interior prop package, scirbbled a ZIP code on it, and sent it to the address at the University.
UChicago has been allowed to keep the replica prop, since as many have said, “It belongs in a museum!” while the the ebay buyer will receive a new one from the seller in Guam.
“Not that Jones, the other Jones!”
