It seems as though Christie’s Auction House is selling a full Darth Vader costume next month on November 25. This could be the ultimate piece of memorabilia in your collection, but it will certainly come at a price.

Christie’s expects the suit to sell for between $250,000 and $350,000.  Not an insubstantial chunk of change.

Their best guess places this costume as being made and used in The Empire Strikes Back, which seems right to me.  My best guess would say this was one of the Hoth costumes.  The gloves are a little thicker than later in the film.  And this was before they really knew the extent of Vader’s damage, so it would make sense for them to thicken up his gloves for the snow scenes.
