French animation often goes unnoticed the world over, which is a real shame as there some great shows that never see the light of day outside of their homeland release. Wakfu is more then likely one of those shows, or at least until now…
Wakfu: The Animated Series, is based off of the fairly popular MMORPG – Dofus, that later lead to the creation of the Wakfu Online, (2012) Islands of Wakfu, (2011) several other MMO’s as well as the recent strategy board game – Dofus Arena
Other then helping spawn a rather large franchise Wakfu: Animated, has a very unique and fun art style that sets it apart from anything on the market right now. The more I see of this thing the more excited I get for its (hopefully) eventual release.
New media animator and Frederator channel partner Chris Niosi, (Kirbopher) even said the show gave him a great deal of inspiration seeing just what they could do with flash animation at the time.
Keep in mind the Kick Starter isn’t for the production or the re-creation of the series but to fund an English-dub and the Blu-ray release with a goal of $80,000
