The holiday lull has ended and new games are being released again. There aren’t many this week, but what there is should excite you.
Venetica from Deck13 is out today. It’s been available in the UK since November. I honestly don’t know much about this title but it has an interesting premise. It’s a fantasy RPG. The player controls Scarlett, the daughter of Death, in the 16th Century. The current Death is slated to be replaced, but the chosen successor is hell-bent on destroying the world and you have to stop him. Welcome to the GameQ Venetica.
The only other PS3 release this week is actually very big news. Androidika and Shazbot have already written about their experiences with the beta for DC Universe Online and the final product is out tomorrow. Geeks everywhere will just fall off the face of the world for a while as they will be playing this non-stop. I’d love to try it out, but I am much too afraid of the addiction it will create.
And that’s it. Only two games to get us started on 2011 but that’s okay. There are still plenty of greats from last year that you haven’t played and we’re just whetting our appetites on what should be an amazing year of games, especially this fall.
