Paid content can be downloaded without the Network ID, however, the new ID is required to download demo and free content.

The new update will also include Mii-Verse for Nintendo 3DS

The software update will also give Youtube capabilities to the 3DS as well as patch the Youtube app for WiiU. 3DS owners will be able to watch content on the top screen, while searching for content on the bottom screen. The WiiU update will allow you to watch content on the Game Pad or search for content on the tablet while playing your video on the television. Pikmin 3 will also receive a third round of DLC, which will be made with completely new stages. This expansion will allow you to find Louie and control him once he’s discovered. This download includes 8 stages total 4 collect treasure and 4 Battle Enemies. The third round of stages will release on December 2, 2013. The game will require a software update to play this content, without it the new content isn’t playable, and you also receive 2 free stages with the update. Both stages are inside of the “Fortress of Festivity”.

Animal Crossing Plaza is getting two updates soon. You can now use stamps to customize your posts to Mii-Verse, and combine multiple stamps with hand drawn messages to posts. You can also erase parts of stamps to create your own designs. These stamps will also come to Super Mario 3D World for Mii-Verse, and these will come to future titles. They are only from Mii-Verse with supporting titles, not anywhere on Mii-Verse. The other update is a ranking feature for Animal Crossing. Players can be ranked via polls in the plaza, the polls will be different questions about Animal Crossing characters. These will take place every month until the plaza closes in 2014.
