Sure it’s nothing “new” but how can you go wrong with Metal Gear Solid HD Collection. This is the series that is almost singlehandedly responsible for the stealth action genre. And now it’s all in glorious HD. This is the ultimate way to experience all of these Hideo Kojima masterpieces.

And do I even need to mention Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3? Battlefield 3 launched the first salvo in this year’s FPS battle selling a crazy number of games. Will Activision meet those figures? Exceed them? I’m not sure which will be the “better” game, but I do predict CoD will be the better seller.

Family gamers (or me, with a crazy fascination for these games) will definitely want to pick up LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7. I’m sure everyone is bored with me hyping LEGO games by now. But I’m not gonna stop until they stop being fun.

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has been long awaited. RPG fans are nuts for this series and this one looks amazing. Who doesn’t want to scream at dragons? And that’s actually one of the least cool things about this one.

Whew. As much as I love this time of year with all of its amazing game releases, I’m looking forward to January when writing this column becomes boring again.
