The Childlike Empress returns! Tami Stronach, the beloved Empress of Fantasia in the 80’s classic The Neverending Story has joined a new children’s fantasy film Man & Witch. Written by her husband Greg Steinbruner, Stronach will star in the film as well as serve as executive producer.
In 2016, the couple founded the family entertainment brand The Paper Canoe Company. The mission is “to make kids feel like grown ups and to make grown ups feel like kids.”
Producer and Director is Rob Margolies, from the 2012 film She Wants Me. Notable talent also joining the film includes Sean Astin (Goonies, Lord of the Rings), Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future), Rhea Perlman (Cheers), and Michael Emerson (Lost).
From the press release:
“Man & Witch”, a heartwarming homage to the lo-fi fantasy films of the 80’s, is a comic adventure that both fulfills and subverts the expectations of what a fantasy universe can be, featuring the long awaited comeback of one of Hollywood’s most enigmatic child stars, Tami Stronach. Stronach plays the reclusive Witch, a being of power and mystery, who loses her heart to a hapless goatherd when he hires her to break a curse by an Evil Wizard.
Additional casting has yet to be announced, but production is scheduled to begin in late fall.
