Proletaria-tron: I spent last nights episode of Lost packing so I wasn’t as deep into it as I should of been. But there were a few really great things that I took away from the episode. First, I loved when the “Jacob is like my father and I am almost always yelling and pointing guns at people” chick blew the fuck up because she was throwing around dynamite. I literally stopped what I was doing and just started laughing. Every now and again Lost gets me with something like that and I love it.
Second, the whole Hurley/ Libby Alternate story was great. Libby is “crazy” because she knows that something is wrong with her world, and makes Hurley realize it. It was good shit. I love Hurley, and love to see good things happen. I also loved to see Desmond kind of going around to all the Oceanic people and seeing they get what they deserve. Like when… Desmond runs Locke the fuck over!!! And smiles while he does it. Holy shit that was great. I can’t wait until we find out why Flocke threw him in that well and if he ran him over as revenge. But even with all that awesome my real favorite part was when the promo for next week played and we heard this song. “> That blew me the hell away. What do you think Arse?
Arse-bot: I thought this episode was fantastic. We are quickly counting down the hours left of this show and LOST is really hitting its stride and delivering on every level.
I love Hurley and Libby. Fuck Kate and Sawyer, fuck Jack and Kate. It’s actually a little maddening to me that this show has spent so much time over the years focusing on the Kate/Jack/Sawyer love triangle when the good love stories are pushed to the back ground – like Sun and Jin, Sayid and Nadia, and my favorite (and most short-lived) Hurley and Libby. There is an innocence about Hurley and Libby that’s really enjoyable; Hurley is super insecure about himself and Libby just likes him for him. So it goes without saying that I really liked what was done with the Hurley/Libby alternate timeline. Libby and Hurley are connected and Libby can feel that and it’s pretty devestating for her that Hurley doesn’t remember. I have to say, Cynthia Watros who plays Libby was fantastic in this episode. When she walked up to alternate-timeline Hurley you could just see the pain and confusion (with a hint of love) in her eyes when she was interacting with Hurley, as if to say, “I remember loving you in another life, why don’t you remember loving me?” and questioning if she really is crazy the whole time. Great stuff. LOST doesn’t hit me emotionally that often, but when it has, it’s usually involved these two characters.
Okay, sorry, didn’t mean to get all sentimental on that.
I do have a question though. Hurley couldn’t see Libby in the mental hospital in the alternate timeline because the doctor wouldn’t let him. It was only after a $100k donation that he was allowed to visit… only to have Libby tell him she’s just there voluntarily and can essentially leave whenever with whoever. So who was the doctor to tell Hurley he couldn’t visit? Wouldn’t that be Libby’s call? But I digress…
I’m also really enjoying Hurley trying to be a leader and Jack stepping back and saying “I trust you Hurley.” Or as I kind of read it, “I’ve fucked up a lot as leader, so I’m going to hang back on this one.”
Of course, we got a little more Desmond this episode. Not sure what he’s doing walking about with that goofy smirk on his face, but he seems to be up to something… hopefully we get to find out what that is considering he’s currently unvoluntarily taken up residence in the bottom of a well (and the promo for next week shows Sayid shooting a gun down there). I am curious to see what alternate Desmond is getting at. Seems like he is making sure all the alternate versions of the castaways fulfill their destinies on the island. Which of course meant making sure Hurley and Libby find each other… and killing Locke… by hitting him with his car! That was the part I laughed my ass of at Proletaria!
I think it goes without saying, “Can’t wait until next week’s episode!” And I 100% agree with my partner in crime here, the promo for next week was awesome!
