Arse-Bot- Well, let m just start off by saying I thoroughly enjoyed this episode of LOST. For the first time all season I was just staring at the TV during the whole episode and that good ol’ “What the shit is going on?!” that LOST incites came back. Faraday is a crazy badass and apparently the only person who can set things right and he has put up with a lot of shit to get that opportunity only to be… well, if you watched it you know, if you are still waiting to watch it on your DVR I won’t ruin it for you.
What I like best about this episode is that the Islanders have been given a purpose and an idea on how to actually fix everything… you know, like they were originally trying to do! If they can stop that energy mishap from ever happening everything that has ever happened on LOST will have never happened. My processors are still trying to decide how I feel about that aspect, might have to get back to you on that one.
I have a prediction though, and try to follow along. Since “this is their present”, stopping this from happening will stop their Oceanic flight from ever happening, but they may not just vanish and never be the wiser. Doing this may (following with all of Faraday’s math/time travel stuff) just cause a split in the time line. So it will never happen, but the islanders will still exist and live out their lives on the island while an alternate version of the islanders never crash, and none of this ever happens to them. I know, a little far fetched perhaps, but it’s a theory, and it’s not like crazier things haven’t happened… it’s LOST for God’s sake!
Time to power down, Proletaria, what say you sir?
Prolateria-Tron- It is about damn time we had an episode like this. I’ve been waiting the entire season for this episode. Shit actually happened! Faraday is a great character and I think they fucked up by killing him off. (If you’re reading this you should have seen the show, I make no apologies) There are so many much less interesting characters, like Kate, that they could get rid of and nobody would give half a shit but Faraday was a bad ass and was there for an explanation to a lot of things.
Besides that fact that Faraday is awesome, this episode had a little bit of Desmond which just ups the awesome even more. If halfway through the episode you hadn’t figured out that Charles was Daniels dad, give up. It was pretty obvious. Its still awesome though. The connections are one of the things I like about lost. The Claire-Jack connection. The Elliose-Faraday-Whidmore-Desmond-Ben connection. Its awesome, so even though its obvious I still enjoyed it.
Now the whole idea of this episode was pretty interesting. Faradays mom setting him up to die seems pretty fucked up and that there could easily be a way around it but maybe she had to do it to preserve the island. Because Daniel wants to save it maybe she was working against that the entire time? Regardless, it was a good plot. I enjoyed the hell out of this episode and I really hope that next week kicks just as much ass. Leave me wanting more, not being disappointed like the majority of this season.
