ABC Picks Up “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” for a Full Season

It was the highest rated television premier in over four years, it has received mixed feelings from the geek community, and it has just been picked up for a full 22-episode season! “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” will be sticking around for at least a full season as of today making it only the third new Fall show to be picked up (FOX’s “Sleepy Hollow” has been renewed for a second short season, and NBC has decided to give “The Blacklist” a full season to prove its worth as well).

Us ‘bots here at Big Shiny Robot are pretty divided on the quality of the show – though, I think it is safe to say no one absolutely hates it. For me, I think the show is a fun, great hour of geeky television. It’s by no means perfect, and there are some improvements I would like to see made to the show’s pacing, mix of action, drama, and humor etc., but so far each week I have had a lot of fun watching Agent Coulson and his ragtag team find their footing. So it probably goes without saying that I am happy to see “Agent’s of S.H.I.E.L.D.” get at least a full season to iron our the wrinkles and hopefully make it worth everyone’s time to stick around as a staple on our televisions for a while.
