If you and some extra time in your hands today and felt like scrounging through Microsoft’s SEC filing, you would have come across this interesting tidbit, “The next version of our operating system, Windows 8, will be generally available on October 26, 2012. At that time, we will begin selling the Surface, a series of Microsoft-designed and manufactured hardware devices.”

Microsoft has yet to release exact pricing details, but have promised to price them ‘competitively’ which makes one guess around $500 which is pretty much the benchmark entry point for all full sized tablets.
