At the end of their E3 Showcase, Bethesda dropped the bomb we’ve all been waiting for. Since they’ve been working on the game since immediately after Fallout 3, it is exciting to see the game hitting this year. It may get delayed as games often due, but if all goes well, we’ll see the new Fallout before the end of the year! In case you haven’t seen the trailer, check it out below.
After yesterdays leak not much was left for surprise in the “Dishonored 2” announcement. The main surprise in store, is that the protagonist of the new title will be Corvo Attano, or Emily Kaldwin. Trailer below!
Did Bethesda Accidentally Announce ‘Dishonored 2?’
During their open microphone tests on the Bethesda Twitch Channel. While the mics were open you can overhear some people discussing the presentation. Thanks to YouTube user Necxfarious for posting the audio. The person with the French accent is Raph Colantonio, president of Arkane Lyons. The conversation is between Harvey Smith and Ralph Colantonio discussing the upcoming presentation which is leading to speculation that the announcement must be about “Dishonored 2”. You can listen to the audio below. What else does Bethesda have up their sleeves for their first ever E3 Presser?
After a large countdown at fallout.bethsoft.com, Bethesda has finally unveiled “Fallout 4”. The trailer, located at www.fallout4.com, went live at 8 am this morning and looks glorious. The game will be releasing for Xbox One, PS4, and of course, PC.
While a dog (presumably your pet) wanders through an abandoned city we are treated to pre-disaster looks at the world, offset by the post-apocalyptic view. The trailer also features Fallout’s 1950s style crooning to accompany the scenes. You can catch the trailer below, there is also a link for pre-order. Bethesda is sure to share more at their E3 conference June 14th at 7 PM PST.
CD Projekt Red released the cinematic trailer titled “A Night to Remember”. In this trailer we see Geralt of Rivia hunting another monster on the outskirts of town. Ubisoft has announced that “Rainbow Six Siege” will get its worldwide release on October 14, 2015. The game will release for PS4, Xbox One and PC. If your memory is foggy “Rainbow Six” was the E3 trailer last year that had the stunning multi-player scenario. This game, like its predecessors looks to redefine cooperative shooters and take the technical challenge to a whole new level. Developed by Ubisoft Montreal this game puts players in “lethal close-quarters situations”.
For the first time in a Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six game, players will engage in sieges, a new style of assault where enemies have the means to transform their environments into modern strongholds while Rainbow Six teams lead the assault to breach the enemy’s position.
The trailer is available below, get your pre-ordering finger ready!
I tweeted about this on launch day, but it has been confirmed that “Mortal Kombat X” has introduced the first gay character into the long-running fighting game series.
While playing the story mode in the game, there is a scene between Raiden and Kung Jin where Raiden tries to convince him to join the Shaolin monks for training. Jin initially refuses because, “I can’t … they won’t accept …”
Raiden responds, “They care only of what is in your heart, not whom you desire.”
Many gamers guessed it was in regards to Kung Jin’s sexuality, but it was made clear today via Dominic Ciancialo, the game’s cinematic director who said on Twitter:
@bcharred I see people are picking up on the subtle exposition contained in Kung Jin’s flashback. Glad we have observant fans!
So yes, Kung Jin was referring to his being gay in that interaction.
Refreshingly, this took place in passing much as it does for many gay people when they choose to come out and explain who they are.
As we originally reported, “Star Wars” recently included their first LGBT character as well, so it’s great to see that this same spirit of diversity is continuing through all forms of media. Characters come out, and the stories surrounding and involving them go on with barely a notice of their sexuality.
The long running era of the Saturday morning cartoon has officially ended, but no one can stop you from fulfilling your true weekend calling. Cartoons and Saturday mornings were made for each other and no one can tell us otherwise. It is to that end that we maintain vigil, bringing you animated selections each Saturday morning until the internet dies, or until we run out, good thing there’s always reruns.
“Battletoads” Pilot Created by Tim Stamper and Chris Stampe; Directed by Kent Butterworth; Written by David Wise; Starring Kathleen Barr, Ian James Corlett, Michael Donovan, Andrew Kavada, Lalainia Lindbjerg, Scott McNeil, Jason Michas, and Alvin Sanders.
“Battletoads” began as a Canadian half-hour cartoon show proced by DIC Entertainment along with several other cartoon of the era including “Street Sharks” and “The Adventures of T-Rex” it was an effort to capitalize on the popularity of “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.”
While the idea was never picked up for a full series, culminating in this one pilot episode, it did serve as a prequel to the popular and enduring video game series of the same name.
In this episode three high school students with a propensity for trouble are selected by inter-dimensional travelers to be heroes and protect Princess Angelica from the Dark Queen and her hench-men-people-animals.
They are transformed into the Battletoads and given the heroic names of Pimple, Rash, and Zitz, though they maintain the ability to revert to their earlier human forms.
Using their new superhuman strength and they ability to turn their hands and feet into weapons in what they call “smash hits,” they defend the princess from the evil queen.
Unlike most cartoons featured in this weekly column, you can watch the entirety of “Battletoads” canon in 22 minutes right here.
Any further mythology must be gleaned from the games which you can play online via streaming emulators or you can hit your local used video games store asking the classic question- “Do you have Battletoads?”
The latest season of “Battlefield Friends” has launched exclusively on Vessel today. This season, focused on the cops and robbers gameplay of “Battlefield Hardline” can be viewed once you have set up a free Vessel account. Episode 1 “Hotwire” is available now, and is readily available for you to see the crew learn how to “serve and protect instead of making sense.” The season should alternate between Hardline and BF 4, giving ample opportunity for shenanigans to ensue.
Rocksteady Games announced this morning that “Arkham Knight” will be slightly delayed for their global release. Initially releasing on June 3, 2015. “Batman: Arkham Knight” will now hit shelves June 23,2015.
We’re a developer that hates to make any compromises, so we are sorry to say this means it’s going to be just a little bit longer until you can play the epic conclusion to the Arkham trilogy.
As an “apology” for the delay, Rocksteady has released new gameplay footage which was captured directly from a Playstation 4 system. It didn’t make me feel better, it only made me want to play the damn game more, which is probably part of their plan. What are your thoughts, can you hang a few more weeks?
