UPDATE: Someone killed the video so you’ll have to go to HERE to see it now.
I’ve been waiting for this to drop for so long I had wondered if it had died. Eddie Olmos mentioned it at Dragon*Con and this trailer premiered at Wondercon. I have chills, this looks amazing. Check out the synopsis for the details.
Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome takes place in the 10th year of the first Cylon war. As the battle between humans and their creation, the sentient robotic Cylons, rages across the 12 colonial worlds, a young, talented fighter pilot, William Adama (Luke Pasqualino), finds himself assigned to one of the most powerful Battlestars in the Colonial fleet: the Galactica. Full of ambition and in pursuit of the intense action that the Cylon war promises, Adama quickly find himself at odds with Coker (Ben Cotton), the battle-weary officer to whom he reports. With 47 days left in his tour of duty, Coker desires an end to battle just as much as Adama craves the start of it. Though they clash at first, the two men forge an unlikely bond when a routine mission turns dangerous and becomes a pivotal one for the desperate fleet.
Joining Pasqualino and Cotton in the cast is Lili Bordan, who will play Dr. Beka Kelly, a Ph.D. who worked for Graystone Industries that created the Cylon robots. Currently assigned to a secret military mission, Beka and Adama quickly establish a rapport.
It’s important to note that this does not actually appear to be an “official” trailer made by SyFy, but clearly made by someone involved with the production.

Six years ago Jack Dorsey sent out the first tweet to the masses, or to those who had enrolled I suppose. “just setting up my twttr” were the words to begin a 140 character revolution heard by all. Now sitting well over 175 million users, the hash tags and terminology have become ingrained in our culture. I didn’t want to spoil the celebration with too long of a write up so let’s see if I can do a summary in 140 characters or less.
Happy birthday #twitter love @bigshinyrobot and @bsrzombietron!
There I did it.
It was announced this morning that Jenna-Louise Coleman will be taking over as the new companion for the Doctor starting with this year’s Christmas special. We have found out that 6 episodes of Doctor Who will air this year, including the Christmas special, and 8 will air next year. Revealed last year that Amy (Karen Gillen) and Rory (Arthur Darvill) would be leaving the show in the next series, now we have more details on how that will come about and when the Doctor’s new friend will show up. These tweets were taken from the official Doctor Who twitter as the news Coleman’s arrival was announced this morning:
“I want to get started already” says Jenna. “I’m a huge fan of the show”. Of her favourite companion “Between Billie Piper & Karen Gillan”
“Matt Smith did my audition with me. It was fun and I felt like we were in it together” says Jenna.
Steven: “We saw a lot of brilliant actresses. But Jenna was the only person going faster than Matt – he had to keep up!”
Matt Smith had to keep up? If that is the case and they’re not blowing smoke up our asses I am definitely interested in and already ok with the new companion.
Following this picture of Jenna-Louise Coleman are details regarding Amy and Rory’s departure from the show. It is very spoilery, so don’t proceed if you don’t wanna know.
As announced via twitter Amy and Rory will leave the show in the 5th episode of the series in a final showdown with the Weeping Angels. Showrunner Steven Moffat also said “Not everyone gets out alive, and I mean it this time.” Since the original announcement that the couple would be leaving the show and it would be heartbreaking I have had one theory and I’m standing by it. I believe that Amy is going to die and leave Rory alone. One thing is for certain, it is sure to be a roller coaster of emotions on Doctor Who this year!
Sony released a viral video to promote The Amazing Spider-Man.
I’ve been trying to get the phone number to work, but I’ve got nothing but a busy signal for the last hour.
WIll this campaign lead to something as cool as The Dark Knight? Only time will tell, but it’s worth investigating.
In addition to the phone number, the video also brings you to a site called “The Webbed Menace.”
It’s time to do some exploring…
The lovable and zany Muppets were honored today with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame to coincide with the DVD and Blu-ray release of their newest film The Muppets. In appropriate Muppet humor, the press release referred to it as the Hollywood “Wocka Wocka” of Fame.
The President and CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Leron Gubler emceed the event with guest speakers Rich Ross, Chairman, The Walt Disney Studios and Lisa Henson, CEO, The Jim Henson Company (and daughter of the late and dearly missed Jim Henson).
The event was held at the Historic El Capitan Theatre, and several Muppets attended including Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie, Gonzo, Animal, Pepe, Sweetums, and Walter, who made his debut in The Muppets, released today. Kermit and Miss Piggy were most recently seen together at the Academy Awards, where the nominated song from The Muppets, “Man or Muppet,” won in the Best Song Category.
“Thanks to creative genius Jim Henson and these extraordinary puppeteers, the Muppets are truly worldwide icons and Hollywood stars,” said Ross. “They are a treasured part of the Disney family, and we’re thrilled to see them join so many other luminaries on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.”
The Muppets’ star is the 2,466th on the Walk of Fame, where other famous names can be found, including Tinker Bell, Mickey Mouse, and Big Bird. Kermit the Frog received his own individual star in 2002 (the 2,208th), and Muppets creator Jim Henson received a star posthumously in 1991. A banner picturing Henson along the Walk is sponsored by the Jim Henson Company and can be seen during the dance number on Hollywood Boulevard in The Muppets.
I imagine that Miss Piggy will soon be demanding her very own star. In fact, I’m surprised she doesn’t have one already. I can see her now, telling anyone who will listen that she’s the real star of the Muppets and the only one who can truly act. That Miss Piggy. Such a diva!
Well, this exists.
This looks laughably bad. But I’m sure it’s going to clean up at the box office. Which really pisses me off.
Take your dollars this week to protest crap like Twilight getting made and go see John Carter, a great movie based on a great book, not a shitty movie based on a shittier book, like Twilight.
They showed a sizzle reel of Prometheus at WonderCon this year and we’ve got it. It shows a little more than the trailer but tells a little less.
This is one of my most anticipated films of the year.
In case you missed trailer #2, here it is:
Just a few weeks ago we got our first casting for season 3 of The Walking Dead in the form of David Morrissey playing the Governor. Now we’ve got news that Michonne has been cast. According to the Hollywood Reporter Danai Gurira will play the samarai sword wielding badass. Gurira is most known for being on HBO’s Treme. Showrunner Glen Mazzara told the Hollywood Reporter that they were looking for “someone that inhabits the traits of the character” and not necessarily an actor with a “name” to fill the role. She is probably the character most people that were familiar with the comics have been waiting for and now they’re going to get her! It is also of note that Robert Kirkman and Charlie Adlard did a 6 page origin story for the character that was printed in the newest issue of Playboy that came out this past Friday.
