FOOTAGE: Iron Man 3 – MTV Movie Awards

This movie looks incredible.

MTV, through their Movie Awards, premiered this bit of footage from Iron Man 3, which comes out in the United States May 3rd.

A clip like this is exactly what I needed to get over the news coming from the Boston Marathon.

Preview: Justice League #18, Justice League of America #2, JLA’s Vibe #2

Like Justice League? We’ve got pages and pages of previews of this week’s Justice League titles: Justice League #18, Justice League of America #2, and Justice League of America’s Vibe #2, which comes out tomorrow from DC (more…)

PHOTOS: Ender’s Game

Ender’s Ansible got a nice exclusive from the Ender’s Game movie showing Ender and Petra, as well as the scoreboard for the games.

If you follow through to their link, they’ve highlighted 11 things that are of note, including Dink Meeker, Bonzo, and a variety of other fascinating things.

This long awaited film is directed by Gavin Hood and scheduled for release in November of this year. Harrison Ford is playing Col. Graf.

I’m incredibly excited about this film even though the source material was written by Orson Scott Card, an irrational homophobe. It was one of my favorite books growing up and I’m dying to see the film. Card himself has been the subject of a boycott for his work with DC Comics. I wonder if his deviant politics will play a part in the box office returns of this film as well.

PREVIEWS: The Clone Wars 5.18 – “The Jedi Who Knew Too Much”

Here are two new clips of Saturday’s new episode of The Clone Wars. As we near the end of this arc and this season, I can’t imagine where Season 6 could possibly take us that would take my breath away more. That’s what I love about Filoni and his team: they always find a way.

Here’s the official synopsis of the episode:

As the Republic military takes over the Temple bombing case, Ahsoka finds herself at odds with Admiral Tarkin in “The Jedi Who Knew Too Much,” Saturday, February 16th at 9:30am ET/PT on Cartoon Network.

And why do I think that Ahsoka is going to be framed for Letta’s murder and on the run? I’m just guessing, but it sounds likely, especially given this clip:

PREVIEWS: The Clone Wars 5.17 – “Sabatoge”

After the events of the last arc, I’m not sure how it could be topped. Dave Filoni that it promises to do it and I can’t wait to see how. And with four Alfred Hitchcock based title names, how can you go wrong?

From the press release:

In the first of this four-part episode arc, Anakin and Ahsoka are called back from the frontlines to investigate a deadly explosion at the Jedi Temple. Clues surface that a Jedi might have been responsible for the blast in “Sabotage,” Saturday, February 9th at 9:30am ET/PT on Cartoon Network.

Trivia:
· The four episodes of this arc are all named after Alfred Hitchcock films: Sabotage (1936), The Man Who Knew Too Much (1934), To Catch a Thief (1955) and The Wrong Man (1955).

· “I’m afraid one can become the other,” says Anakin, referring to past political idealists who have betrayed the Jedi, including Count Dooku and General Krell from Season Four. It’s ironic, given his future.

· Russo-ISC’s speech pattern, name, and habit of flipping his visor to punctuate his speech are all nods to David Caruso’s role in CSI Miami.

· In addition to an image of a crossed-out clone trooper, the Temple protester signs said “The Jedi are corrupt,” “Stop cloning violence”

And be sure to contact Disney and make they know you want to see the show next season, too.

GAME OF THRONES SEASON 3: Making of Video “Intensity of Iceland”

This is the third making of video that HBO has released. In this video the focus is on filming in Iceland and how cold and weird it is. We also get a look at the actors playing Mance Rayder and Tormund Giantsbane in costume.

PREVIEW: The Clone Wars 5.16 – “The Lawless”

Aren’t you a little short for a Mandalorian?

Prisoner transfer from cell block 1138?

This is not gonna work…

Okay, now that all of that’s out of my system, I’m good. I can’t wait for this episode. And at least a few more years of The Clone Wars!

With Duchess Satine as bait, the vengeful Darth Maul lures Obi-Wan into a trap. Drunk with power, Maul declares himself the true Sith Lord, a claim that will not go unanswered in “The Lawless” airing this Saturday, February 2nd at 9:30am ET/PT on Cartoon Network.

Episode Trivia:

· This episode marks the first appearance of Darth Sidious “in the flesh.” In all other appearances, he has been a hologram.

· Obi-Wan Kenobi is wearing his Rako Hardeen disguise (from Season Four’s “Deception” arc) when he arrives on Mandalore.

· The much battered Twilight now sports a cartoonish illustration of Anakin as a boy Podracer pilot, with Aurebesh text that says “WIZARD!!!” The Twilight has not been seen since Season Two’s “Children of the Force.”

PREVIEW: The Dark Knight Returns Part 2

I need to watch this movie. ASAP.

The clip features the Joker showing his true colors in a guest appearance on The Dave Endochrine Show. Michael Emerson (Lost, Person of Interest) offers the hauntingly casual voice of Joker; real-life talk show host Conan O’Brien provides the voice of Dave Endochrine; and Michael McKean (This is Spinal Tap) is the voice of Dr. Wolper.

BATMAN: THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS, PART 2, the next entry in the popular, ongoing series of DC Universe Animated Original Movies, arrives January 29 from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment as a Blu-ray™ Combo Pack and DVD, On Demand and for Download. The PG-13 film is produced by Warner Premiere, DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Animation.

PREVIEWS: The Clone Wars 5.15 – “Shades of Reason”

Here are two new clips from Saturday’s episode of The Clone Wars. I’m not sure about you guys, but I’m predicting a bad end for Pre Vizsla. Why else would Kenobi be teamed up with Bo Katan in the trailers? Perhaps Maul ends up uniting Mandalore more than fracturing it for his plans.

Who knows?

What I do know is that I really want to see this episode.

With the backing of the Hutts and an army of the galaxy’s most vicious criminals – including the Death Watch, Black Sun and the Pykes – Pre Vizsla and Maul lead an attack on the planet of Mandalore. Conquest of Mandalore strains the tenuous alliance between the Sith and Death Watch in “Shades of Reason,” airing this Saturday, January 26th at 9:30am ET/PT on Cartoon Network.

PREVIEWS: Clips From The Clone Wars 5.14 – “Eminence”

Wow.

This is really what we’ve all been waiting for. Ever since I saw the trailer for the whole season, this is what things have been leading toward. This is going to be amazing.

From the press release:

After barely escaping their encounter with the Jedi at the beginning of the season, Savage and Maul are found by Death Watch. Both parties forge an alliance when they realize they have a common enemy in the Jedi general, Obi-Wan Kenobi, in “Eminence,” airing this Saturday, January 19th at 9:30am ET/PT on Cartoon Network.

Trivia:

  • · Guest Stars: Pre Vizsla is voiced by Producer/Director Jon Favreau, Darth Maul is voiced by actor Sam Witwer (Being Human), Savage Opress is voiced by actor Clancy Brown (The Shawshank Redemption) and Bo-Katan is voiced by actress Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica).
  • · The discovery of the incapacitated Sith brothers, nearly frozen in a drifting starship, was staged as an homage to the opening scenes of Aliens (1986) wherein Ripley is found by a salvage team.
  • · All the Huttese dialogue in the episode was translated from English. The phrase “Stuka Crispo,” heard uttered by Jabba the Hutt, means “Death Watch.”
