We3 to hit the big screen
By Nick Marx on December 10, 2008 in Comics Movies News
For all your Grant Morrison fans out there (which might be dwindling after Batman: R.I.P.) its looks like the film adaptation of his “western manga” We3 has a director. joblo.com has reported that John Stevenson, who directed Kung Fu Panda, has signed on to be the director of the live action adaptation of Morrison and artist Frank Quitely’s miniseries. Morrison has already written a script for it and the producer says they are going for an R-rating. This sounds great to me, who doesnt love a rabbit in a robotic suit that kills people? We3 is available as a TPB if you want to read up on it before you decide if this movie will be worth seeing or not.
Terminator: Salvation Trailer
By Jeff Ortiz on December 10, 2008 in Movies NewsThe new trailer for Terminator Salvation is available for your viewing pleasure. Needless to say it looks pretty bad ass. Christian Bale rocking the shit as John Connor will certainly be a treat. It’s a relief when the theatrical trailer does the teaser justice and amps you up for the flick even more unlike some movies (I’m looking at you Frank Miller).
Frakes on More Star Trek TNG!
By Tyson Huber on December 9, 2008 in Movies News
From trekmovie.com:
Frakes on Star Trek 2009 and beyond
excerpts from iF MagazineiF: And of course there’s STAR TREK – but of course there was a long time between the original series and the movies and it was a logical progression to go from CLASSIC TREK to NEXT GEN movies. Speaking of STAR TREK, are you excited about the new J.J. Abrams movie?
FRAKES: I’ve very optimistic about the new movie. I’m a big fan of his as a storyteller and I was there and it looked great. I was lucky enough to visit the set and was overwhelmed how beautiful the [Enterprise] bridge was.iF: You were just there to hang out – no top secret cameo?
FRAKES: [The] First [A.D. – Tommy Gormley] was my first [on Thunderbirds], and J.J. is married to a girl I know in Maine, so we had these connections and we’ve been trading notes back and forth and finally went over to have a little schmooze with them and it happened to be the day they were on the bridge. I must say, it was very emotional to be on someone else’s STAR TREK set, as you could imagine.iF: At the same time, do you feel sad that the NEXT GEN movies have come to an end?
FRAKES: Yes. By all means. I had dinner with Patrick [Stewart] last week and we were both ready to go back to do another one.iF: Do you think that ship has sailed that NEXT GEN anything is pretty much off the table.
FRAKES: I don’t think so. I think if this is successful, it opens up any number of possibilities for the whole STAR TREK franchise, so we’ll see how this does.
Being the Star Trek TNG fan that I am, I would LOVE to see the crew take one last run and go out in glory! So, hopefully something comes of this!
007 Will Be Back In…
By Bryan Young on December 8, 2008 in Movies News
So, according to Daniel Craig, they’ll be addressing two of the three glaring omissions from the last two 007 movies in the third film in his run as James Bond.
Check it at IMDb in full, but here’s an excerpt:
“We’ve finished this story as far as I’m concerned. We’ve got a great set of bad guys. There is an organisation that we can use whenever we want to. The relationship between Bond and M is secure and Felix is secure. Let’s try and find where Moneypenny came from and where Q comes from. Let’s do all that and have some fun with it.”
So, as long as they add Q and Moneypenny and use the fucking Bond theme in the film, this one might be worth re-watching.
Hopefully they don’t bring Paul Haggis back, too. That guy fucking sucks.
On a sidenote, one of the best portrayals of James Bond was in League of Extraordinary Gentlemen: The Black Dossier.
Who will be Thor?
By Nick Marx on December 4, 2008 in Movies News Video Games
Who will be Thor? Kevin Mckidd? Maybe. While laying down foundations to make the ultimate nerdgasm that will be The Avengers movie there are a few cornerstones that need to be placed and to me Thor looks like it might be the weakest one. However with Iron Man Marvel was really smart with finding the right person for the roll so hopefully they’ll keep it up with the next few movies. Head on over to joblo.com for their full story on the possiblilty of Mckidd as Thor.

First Look at Gambit
By Tyson Huber on November 29, 2008 in Movies NewsHope all you readers out there had a great Turkey Day! Arse-Bot here with some half-assed post-Thanksgiving news for you.
Below we have, courtesy of Empire Magazine, your first look of Tyler Kitsch as Gambit from X-Men Origins: Wolverine:
Not really much to say about it, I mean, he’s got the long hair and is holding cards. We’ll see if he can tackle a good cajun accent and if those eyes at least go red when he’s using his powers.
I think the general feeling towards this film is “It couldn’t be worse than X3…”
Terminator: Salvation web poster
By Mike Lindsay on November 25, 2008 in Movies NewsOK…this is totally bitchin’. Enough to fire up my long-to-dormant circuits and actually put up a post. Not only is this a poster. but an interactive one at that. Will they do one of these as a normal poster to hang in theaters? Maybe one of those refracting ones that changes as you move? Could work I guess.
The Fleapit Three
By Bryan Young on November 24, 2008 in Movies NewsSo, there’s this film that some people we… know… made…
It’s funny and nerdy. They wrote the script in one weekend and filmed it on Sundays for 7 months.
