The leaked videos from Marvel’s press conference keep coming and here is another one. In this clip Tony and Cap argue about Tony’s actions and intentions of creating Ultron in the first place.

“Age of Ultron” hits theaters May 2015.

In this clip, Ultron is proven to be the Ultimate Party Pooper.

If all of the awesome reported today for the Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase 3 wasn’t enough, Marvel has dropped the cherry right on top by releasing this extra bit of footage featuring the whole team hanging out like they were all back in college post-finals.

And then Ultron, in all of his Spader-y glory shows up to totally kill the buzz. Check it out, now.

As I’m sure everyone knows, today was a HUGE day for Marvel announcements, and one of the biggest was not only is Avengers 3 going to be split into two movies, it’s also going to focus on the Infinity Stones and Gauntlet.

We’ve stumbled across a video that appears to have been taken at the press conference earlier, and it shows us the Infinity Stones we’ve already encountered as well as giving us a shot of Thanos and the Gauntlet itself!

Marvel came out of the ring swinging today, unloading their entire slate of films for Phase 3. And there’s a lot to love here and a lot more to speculate about. 

The first film, coming May 6, 2016, is “Captain America: Civil War.” During the announcement, Robert Downey, Jr. and Chris Evans were brought onto the stage and told the audience it was time to pick a side. And according to sources at the event, Feige confirms that “Civil War” will be global superhuman registration with a specific inciting incident.

After that, we’re getting “Doctor Strange” on November 4, 2016. No word officially on who is playing the title character, but signs point to Benedict Cumberbatch.

Next in the lineup for Phase 3 is the already announced “Guardians of the Galaxy 2”

After that we get “Thor: Ragnarok” which could mean a lot of things. Anyone who has read Thor comics knows that Ragnarok occurs when Baldur the Brave is killed and the end of all things comes. There’s a resurrection and people come back in different forms. Could this be an opening to recasting the Asgardians? Loki came back as a woman last time. Is that possible again?

Who knows.

Next, it was announced that Chadwick Boseman had been cast as Black Panther. There was also some speculation that Wakanda would be appearing in “Avengers: Age of Ultron.” Who knows how soon we’ll see the character in other films, but the standalone “Black Panther” hits screens November 3, 2017.

Things get more interesting and exciting with the announcement of Marvel’s first stand-alone solo female superhero film: “Captain Marvel.” There’s no indication which version of the character this will be, but propping it up next to the “Inhumans” could be a hint. It comes out in July of 2018.

Then we have “The Inhumans,” which opens up an even different part of the Marvel universe. It comes out November 2, 2018.

But the piece de resistance? “The Avengers: Infinity War – Parts 1 and 2”. Coming back to back in May 2018 and May 2019. It was announced that Mark Ruffalo and the Hulk would be in all of the Avengers movies, but he wouldn’t go any further than that as far as cast involvement. He said that things that happened in previous movies to characters would affect the lineup, and to say much more was a spoiler.

That is one ambitious slate. And I can’t wait to see how it all turns out.

According to THR and deadline.com, Strange has been found. After months of rumors, nips at the hook, and one of the most hotly debated fancasting topics I’ve ever witnessed, it appears that Dr. Stephen Strange will be played by Benedict Cumberbatch.

Names like Joaquin Phoenix, Jared Leto, and Tom Hardy were the most recent actors rumored to be approached or attached. I believe at one point there was even a Johnny Depp tossed about. But is Cumberbatch the lucky performer who can now add the Sorcerer Supreme to his long list of iconic characters? 

Scott Derrikson will direct a script by Jon Spaihts, and there is no word on a release date yet. While Cumberbatch was never in my fancast-list (Pedro Pascal, for the record, was my favorite), I have been and will remain wildly excited for this addition to the Marvel MCU.

The Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer has leaked a week early thanks to Movieweb. This appears to be an international version of the trailer as it has an April release date on it. So get on with it and take your first look at Avengers: Age of Ultron!

2006 gave us one of my favorite hero comics series since I started collecting, Marvel’s “Civil War.” For those of you who aren’t familiar, the story was written by Mark Millar (Kick-Ass) and begins with a tragedy at the hands of a group of amateur heroes resulting in the deaths of civilians. In response the United States government requires the registration of all superheroes. The ensuing events cause a rift in the hero community, some siding with the government and registration, while others form a rebellion to maintain their freedom and anonymity. 

If you haven’t read it, I suggest you pick it up. It has also been translated into novel form if that’s your bag. I’ve read both and enjoyed each iteration. Today Marvel dropped a vague announcement on us by way of a picture and a date. 

Is this a sequel, a reboot, or something else? At this point we don’t know. What we do know is that Marvel has plans to revisit the arc both on the page and in the cinematic universe, color me excited. 

Hollywood’s trade magazine Variety is reporting that Tony Stark himself, Robert Downey, Jr., is close to joining the cast of “Captain America 3.” This could be the “negotiations for ‘Iron Man 4′” he was hinting at a week ago.

But bringing Tony Stark into a Captain America film would imply that he’s being brought in as the heavy, setting Iron Man and Captain America at odds in the Civil War storyline. Civil War itself is an incredibly popular series written by Mark Millar that had far-reaching effects into the entire Marvel Universe. Could it be coincidental that Marvel announced this morning that they’d be relaunching Civil War comics next year?

That Kevin Feige is making overtures to give us Civil War on the big screen is perhaps some of the most thrilling news I’ve had in a long time. As I read the original Variety article, watching all of the pieces of the Marvel Universe fall into place for such a compelling story that’s a favorite of mine, I may have shed a joyful tear or two.

The Variety piece is definitely something to read on its own and shows us just how hard Feige works for us fans. Take this nugget:

Originally, Marvel wanted to hire Downey for a small role, which would have required just three weeks of work. But Downey wanted Stark to have a more substantial role in the film’s plot, which would give him more screen time and naturally a bigger payday. This angered Marvel Entertainment chief Ike Perlmutter, who ordered the screenwriters to write Iron Man out of the script entirely, according to sources with knowledge of the situation.

It paints a picture that shows us how precarious a knife’s edge the Marvel Cinematic Universe hangs and how hard Feige fights for us.

It’s also important to note that this news is not confirmed and the article states that negotiations are still ongoing. Anything can still happen, but, at this moment, it seems more likely than not that we’re heading for a Civil War.

And I couldn’t be happier about it.

During the New York Comic Con Marvel and Disney announced the upcoming animated series with a bang and some test footage. You can see that footage shown to guests of the convention by watching the video below. The official video on Youtube by Marvel Entertainment is a wonderful 57 second treat for the weekend. The announcement on Marvel’s page here included a comment by Marc Buhaj, Senior VP of Programming and General Manager at Disney XD!:

“The movie and franchise quickly became a worldwide phenomenon. We’re looking forward to working with the great team at Marvel Television to deliver an engaging animated series that fans can enjoy each week,” –  Marc Buhaj

The series will premiere in 2015 during the Marvel Universe programming block on Disney XD. Enough with the words though, let’s get to the video!
