Disneyland’s Paris theme park has certainly been the butt of many a joke since it opened in 1992, but it could be about to get a blaster bolt of coolness shot into it thanks to a galaxy far, far away.
The website www.mintinbox.net released a comment from the CEO of Disneyland Paris, Philippe Gas, who told a roundtable of the park’s shareholders that a new Star Wars component may be headed across the pond.
“There is actually a project with Star Tours/Star Wars,” Gas is quoted as saying (and my French is a little rusty as it is a distant second language for this reporter-bot). “I saw preliminary sketches of what it could be and it is quite extraordinary. But we are only just beginning.”
The transformation of the Discoveryland portion of Disneyland Paris into something with a Star Wars connection had been persistently circulating on the Internet since May 2012 and it now looks as if the oft-maligned park may be getting a shot in the arm from the Force.
This is the theme park you want to visit ….
