JUST in case you didn’t get a chance to see The Dark Knight Rises in theatres, LOOK AWAY, AS SPOILERS ARE COMING UP!
Seriously, you’ve been warned, so no complaints.
As was foreshadowed in the closing moments of the DKR, it appears that even though Nolan’s vision for Batman’s legacy will come to an end with his trilogy, some of his characters may live on, as Joseph Gordon-Levitt may have been tapped to take up the mantle of the Dark Knight in the new Justice League movie that’s due in 2015.
According to a report by Hitfix, JGL’s contract with Warner Bros. may include an option to have him take over as Batman in the upcoming Justice League movie. Not only that, but Zack Snyder has been quoted as saying that the new Batman will have some role in the Man of Steel movie coming out next year. While most people assume this will be an end of credits teaser, much as Marvel has done with almost all of their movies up until the Avengers, with the trail of breadcrumbs people in the know have been dropping, it’s not outside the realm of possibility that there could be a scene that showcases JGL as the new Batman, as he is the most logical choice considering how the Dark Knight Rises ended. Not only that, but as one of the best actors of this generation, he definitely has the acting chops to take up the role of Batman and do it better than any who has come before.
What do you think? Will Joseph Gordon-Levitt become the new Batman (and if so, how will he do), or are we reading too much into this story? Let us know in the comments section!
